From February 14 to 16, 2024, The 58th SUPERMARKET TRADE SHOW 2024 (SMTS2024)," hosted by National Supermarket Association of Japan (NSAJ), was held at Makuhari Messe (Halls 1-11). This trade show focuses on the latest information for the food distribution industry, particularly supermarkets.
Congrès Inc. has been responsible for the overseas secretariat of the exhibition since 2009. The overseas secretariat handles tasks such as attracting overseas companies to exhibit, managing exhibitors, assisting international visitors, coordinating with overseas diplomatic missions, conducting overseas PR, and planning international-related activities. During this exhibition, we interviewed representatives from the booths of the U.S. Embassy Agricultural Trade Office and the Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation (FIAB). We remain committed to supporting the organizers and exhibitors in the future.

At SMTS, the U.S. Embassy Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) and industry associations were initially the primary exhibitors. However, due to interest from Japanese importers, domestic producers and farmers in the U.S., the U.S. Department of Agriculture approved SMTS as an endorsement show. As a result, there is now a significant number of direct exhibits from the U.S.
Congrès, as the organizer of the USA Pavilion, provides prompt and reliable service both before and during the exhibition, ensuring the overall setup of the pavilion is handled with confidence. They also maintain direct email communication with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which is positively regarded.

My introduction of SMTS to the Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation (FIAB) led to their participation in the exhibition. I have also reached out to other industry associations and companies, successfully encouraging their participation as well.
