Achievements in Convention Centers & Exhibition Halls
Congrès Inc., as the designated administrator, not only oversees the operation of MICE facilities but also collaborates with the local community to organize MICE study sessions and demonstrations, deliver lectures at universities, and jointly host events. These various collaborations help unlock the potential of the facility.
Tackling the Revitalization of Urban/Regional Areas
A New Center for International Exchange in Japan
TAKANAWA GATEWAY Convention Center
Congrès, a partner in attracting international conventions and operating facilities at the “TAKANAWA GATEWAY Convention Center (tentative name)” in Complex Building I (scheduled to open in March 2025) adjacent to Takanawa Gateway Station in Tokyo, is working together with JR East to develop the city through leveraging MICE.
Large Economic Ripple Effect in Saga Prefecture
SAGA Arena is one of the largest multi-purpose facilities in Kyushu that can host professional sports games and concerts, such as volleyball games of Hisamitsu Springs and basketball games of Saga Ballooners, as well as conventions, events, and exhibitions. As a member of the designated management team, we work with a wide variety of surrounding facilities and local residents to increase tourism and revitalize the community.
Human Resource Development
For Local Businesses
Dejima Messe Nagasaki, which opened in November 2021, is a MICE facility that Congrès helps to manage through PFI (private finance initiative). In parallel with preparations for the opening, we held a seminar targeting local businesses, organized in collaboration with local banks and officials from Nagasaki City Hall, to understand the business opportunities arising from the establishment of MICE facilities, and an empirical experiment on the utilization of unique venues for events.
Lectures for Students
Congrès implemented a “MICE Human Resource Development Program” targeting the Faculty of Economics at Nagasaki University, with our employees serving as instructors and program coordinators. The program included lectures, training sessions, and workshops on MICE, and we supported student-planned events for the opening of Dejima Messe Nagasaki.
Next Generation Development Events in Collaboration with Local Communities
Congrès hosted the “Kids’ Future Experience Expo” with the aim of “expanding future options for children” and “nurturing the next generation of human resources.” In cooperation with neighboring facilities, we created opportunities for children to experience new technologies such as VR and drones, and to hear from professionals in a variety of occupations.
Community-Based Events
SDGs Event with Local High Schools and Companies
Congrès hosted a community-based event, “SDGs Action Festa,” aimed at creating opportunities for people of all ages to think about and practice sustainable actions while having fun. The event featured exhibitors from local businesses, municipalities, farmers, high schools, kindergartens, and welfare organizations engaged in SDGs initiatives. It attracted over 4,000 attendees and was a lively success.
Interaction Between Professional Sports Clubs and Citizens
The event “V.SPORTS DAY” features public viewings of away games of professional sports clubs based in Nagasaki city, including “Nagasaki Velca (B.League)” and “V-Varen Nagasaki (J.League),” on large screens set up at the venue. Attendees gather to cheer on their teams and enjoy the excitement of the games together. They also learned about sustainable development goals.
Music and Community Interaction
High School Students Sending Cheers from the Wind Orchestras Mecca
“Century Hall” of NCC is a famous place for wind orchestras. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the “All Japan Band Competition” could not be held. With the desire to support them, we launched the “Wind Band Cheer Concert” project. The event is held in collaboration with teachers and students from strong local schools and administrators, and the performance is streamed live on YouTube.
Fully Utilizing Japan’s Largest Column-Free Space and Movable Seating
The “Moving Concerts” started in 2001 under the theme of “21st century concerts that are fun to listen to and interesting to watch.” In 2023 and 2024, the event was held at the Exhibition Hall 1 of Port Messe Nagoya, which boasts Japan’s largest column-free space of 20,000 square meters. We participated as organizers in collaboration with the Aichi Prefecture Wind Band Federation.
Stage Direction in Harmony with the Music Atmosphere
This project was born out of an exchange between our employees and members of the saxophone unit “Parero Saxophone Quartet.” Pianist KUROIWA Koki, who has won numerous competition awards, was the guest performer, and pieces from a variety of genres were played. Each song was staged to match its atmosphere.
